Corporate Social Responsibility
2009 Corporate Social Responsibility Year in Review
Whether it's our annual United Way campaign, our partnership with local schools and youth groups or our campus donation drives to help those who are less fortunate, Colonial Life strives to be a good corporate neighbor.
Read through our Corporate Social Responsibility efforts for 2009 to learn more about how we are making a valuable difference in the Midlands community.
Colonial Life is committed to being a proactive corporate partner in the communities where our employees work and live. We support this commitment through charitable giving, sponsorships, in-kind donations, matching gifts programs, scholarship programs, volunteer service grants and employee volunteerism. We have a responsibility to our communities and we are making a difference, one person at a time.
Our commitment to enhancing the quality of life in the communities we support is accomplished through focused efforts in the areas of Health and Human Services, Education, Cultural Arts and Business Development/Civic initiatives. Colonial Life's community relations efforts are linked to special projects in the community, Volunteer Council activities, Colonial Life employees' board memberships and corporate sponsorships to increase our impact in the community.
Our employees are the pulse of our company and the heartbeat of the community. Many employees contribute their time and talents every day to nonprofit organizations. Colonial Life has a corporate goal of giving at least 8,000 hours of volunteer time each year, which equals about 8 hours per employee.
Colonial Life is committed to service, both to customers and to the community. Here's a look at some ways our employees are working together to improve the Columbia community. With year-round community service efforts, it's evident that we not only care about our customers, but also about what happens in the community.
