Senior Vice President, Growth Markets, Colonial Life
Rich Williams is senior vice president of Growth Markets for Colonial Life. He leads the company’s brokerage, public sector, direct and large case markets. He also oversees marketing programs and services that support each of these market segments.
Williams has a broad background in the voluntary benefits industry with roles in sales, client management, strategic growth, operations, finance and corporate development. He first joined Colonial Life in 1999 leading product development and pricing. His previous experience includes roles as chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Strategic Resource Company, an Aetna subsidiary, and in retirement consulting actuarial practice for Mercer.
Williams holds a bachelor’s degree from Wofford College, a master’s degree from Wake Forest University and a doctorate from the University of South Carolina. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Williams also serves on the board of the Healthy Learners nonprofit organization.
