This life insurance plan provides the following features.
  • Higher levels of coverage for more affordable premiums, especially for younger age groups that have a greater need for protection.
  • This plan is convertible to cash-value life insurance.
Colonial’s Level Term Life Insurance is simple and affordable life insurance for the first-time buyer or someone who wants to supplement their existing coverage. It is available with guaranteed issue (no health questions) during your company’s initial enrollment.

This term life insurance plan offers level death benefits; benefits will not decrease with time. Premiums are also level. Two plan designs are available, depending on the amount of coverage you choose.

Plan One (10/10/YRT) is composed of two consecutive 10-year level premium periods. The first 10 years of guaranteed level premiums are based on your age at policy issue.

The second 10 years of guaranteed level premiums reflect rates for your age at the 11th year.

Plan Two (10/YRT plan) is composed of one 10-year guaranteed level premium period, based upon your age at policy issue.  After the 10-year period(s), premiums will increase annually.

Level Term Life Insurance offers the following benefits that are automatically included in your plan.

Accelerated Death Benefit
Gives you the option to receive a percentage of the policy face value if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Immediate Cash Payment
Your beneficiary will receive an immediate cash payment to help pay expenses until the claim on your policy is processed.

Your level term life insurance plan is portable, which means that if you change jobs or retire, you can take this coverage with you. This plan is guaranteed renewable to age 95 as long as premiums are paid when due or within the grace period. Your premium can be changed only if we change it on all policies of this kind in the state where the policy was issued. Premiums can be paid with the convenience of payroll deduction.

Several coverage options are available for you and your family. You can also supplement your level term life coverage with a Waiver of Premium rider and an Accidental Death Benefit rider.  Optional riders are available at additional cost.

Universal Life Insurance

Colonial’s Universal Life Insurance is an individual plan that offers:
  • Protection that accumulates cash value that can grow at current interest rates.
  • Flexible premiums and an adjustable death benefit.
Universal Life Insurance is a nice complement to term or group life insurance protection. This plan offers you the flexibility to change face amounts and premiums as your needs change. Your premium payment can build cash value at current interest rates with this plan. Coverage is also available for your family.
  • You can purchase a universal life policy for your spouse, your children or your grandchildren with the same flexible benefits that are available to you, even if you don’t purchase a policy for yourself.
  • You can add a level term insurance rider for your spouse or your children to your universal life policy.

You can supplement your universal life coverage with the following additional riders.

Accidental Death Benefit Rider
This pays an additional benefit if you die as a result of an accident before age 70. The benefit doubles if death occurs while you are a fare-paying passenger on a public transport system such as a bus or subway.

Additional Coverage Term Rider
You can choose an additional 20-year level term coverage for you and/or your spouse. This coverage can convert to increased coverage under your existing universal life plan or a new cash value life plan without evidence of insurability. Premiums remain level for the duration of the rider.

Guaranteed Purchase Option Rider
You can increase your coverage at the second, fifth and eighth policy years or when specified life events occur without evidence of insurability. Premium is determined by your current age and the amount of insurance you choose.

Waiver of Monthly Deduction Rider
This waives all monthly deductions if you become totally and permanently disabled before age 65. Your policy’s cash-value remains intact and continues earning interest.

Accelerated Death Benefit Rider
This rider gives you the option to receive a percentage of your death benefit if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness and is automatically available if your policy has a death benefit of $10,000 or more. There is no additional premium cost to you - a fee is charged only if you use the benefit.

The Universal Life Insurance plan is portable, which means that you can take this coverage with you, even if you change jobs or retire.

Several coverage options are available for you and your family. You can also supplement your level term life coverage with a Waiver of Premium rider and an Accidental Death Benefit rider.
