Colonial Life Awards $20,000 to Lexington Two Teachers
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Colonial Life is awarding $20,000 in grants to more than 20 Lexington School District Two educators through its Strong Schools Grant program.
The program supports teachers in the school district who have innovative and creative ideas for increasing student engagement. Teachers applied to receive grants of up to $1,000 to purchase equipment and resources that support lessons focused on world-class knowledge and skills and life and career characteristics as outlined in the Profile of the S.C. Graduate.
“We are ecstatic about the partnership formed between Colonial Life and Lexington Two. The collaboration wholeheartedly captures and encompasses the tenants of the district’s vision and mission, which speak to working with our community to ensure that Lexington Two excels in preparing all students for continuous learning and career success,” Dr. Marcella Heyward-Evans, Chief Instructional Officer, Lexington School District Two, said. “The support afforded to our educators via the grant funding will allow our teachers to provide robust and viable classroom experiences that are grounded in world class skills, knowledge and life and career characteristics.”
